Hot Notes was a 1941 illustration for Shillito's Department Store in Cincinnati, Ohio. It appeared in the music section of the store's monthly promotional brochure, "Shillito's Enthusiast." Perhaps the earliest known artifact of Flora's pre-Columbia Records commercial freelance work.

The Hot Notes kid's t-shirt is printed with environmentally friendly water-based ink and gold foil highlights. Short-sleeve loose-knit varied stripe pattern crew. Rib collar and blind-stitched sleeve and bottom hems. Wash in cold water, dry on low heat.
